The more I watched the video..as replayed by every known station...including over 100 times on the ESPN networks..I have a different take on how he should have handled it. Then I found this video of Steven A Smith's commentary..which I totally agree with. Check out the video by clicking the TITLE.
I think most of the media was playing it "politically correct". Only a handful of media had the stones to speak their mind. Steven A Smith did just that. I think he has some really good points..especially about why he had to READ a prepared/rehearsed statement. He wasn't speaking from the heart..he was speaking from the paper. Watch the video..
Peace out my HALEYUNNS!
The bottom line is...the only people he owes apologies to are his family, friends and the Companies that endorse him. People have affairs all day long. The only reason he is different is because he is a major celebrity. All this is a publicity stunt for his endorsements to reconsider because when he does come back to golfing they know he will once again become their "cash cow!"
ReplyDeleteBottom line is if there is no integrity in one's private life there is likely to be no integrity in their public life either. In a world where morality, decency and honesty don't matter it is becoming increasingly hard to raise kids with any core values. I hope his wife got tested for STDs. Absolute power corrupts and money corrups absolutely.
